Marco Respinti dice quel che pensa. Il suo giudizio è autonomo, lo si capisce bene. Quale migliore pregio per un giornalista.
Poi, ha reso giustizia al libro, che ha letto attentamente; e ha colto il suo messaggio, sintetizzandolo in un articolo ricco di riferimenti esterni (l'originale è ancora più completo in questo senso) perfettamente attinenti al tema. Riferimenti che, tra l'altro, mi aiutano a riflettere sullo stesso argomento che tratto nel libro e non solo lì. Questo dimostra che le persone oneste intellettualmente, senza intenti apologetici e bramosi di gettare un po' di luce su quanto accaduto non possono che andare d'accordissimo.
Di Signori Giornalisti come lui ce ne sono davvero pochi. E qui torniamo alla teoria dell’élite.

I should have written a long time ago to thank you for that excellent review of my book on beauty in il Giornale. I am hoping that OUP has agreed the Italian rights and that you will be the translator. Meanwhile, however, I have a request for you to translate something else. In December I have to give a talk on this subject to the conference of the Italian bishops in the Vatican, under the general heading of Dio oggi. They would like me to get the talk translated, so that I can read it in Italian. I have not yet written the talk, but will do so this week. Might you be willing to translate it? I do hope you can say yes, though I realize this may not be the best use of your time.
